In a continued effort to support sustainable development and youth empowerment, the Mt. Kenya Innovation Hub recently delivered essential equipment to beneficiaries of Malka Bisanadi Cultural Village in Isiolo County. This donation marks a significant milestone in their ongoing partnership, aimed at strengthening climate-smart agriculture and eco-tourism in the region.
The equipment—ranging from manual hay balers, protective gear, wheelbarrows, and other farm tools—is set to boost the productivity and efficiency of Malka’s fodder and grass seed enterprise. Beneficiaries, mostly women and youth, expressed gratitude for the tools which will ease labour, reduce post-harvest losses, and enhance income-generating activities.
This initiative follows a successful training session led by Mt. Kenya Hub that introduced best practices in water conservation, pasture reseeding, and indigenous seed handling. The partnership reflects a growing model of innovation meeting tradition where technology and grassroots knowledge work hand in hand to uplift communities and conserve landscapes.
